Charles F. Rosenay!!!
In the United States, Charles F. Rosenay!!! is recognized as the consummate Beatles fan, aficionado & promoter. Since 1978, he has produced Beatles conventions across the country. Thousands upon thousands of fans of all
ages have attended these Beatles festivals in such areas as Boston, Miami, New Haven, Seattle, upstate New York, Detroit, Philadelphia, Cleveland and other locations. In doing so, Liverpool Productions' Beatles Expos were the first outside of Liverpool, England to garner such high-profile special guests as former Beatles' drummer Pete Best, The Beatles' Hamburg bodyguard Horst Fascher, John Lennon's first wife Cynthia Lennon, Lennon's sister Julia Baird, early Mersey promoter Sam Leach and such well-known rock `n roll celebrities as Davy Jones of the Monkees and Woodstock legend Richie Havens.
The conventions featured such heralded bands as Broadway's "Beatlemania" and "1964: The Tribute." He was involved in the first-ever large-scale Beatles fan expositions in Japan, and he has personally hosted many of these conventions. Although currently retired from producing conventions, Charles F. Rosenay!!! still jumps at the opportunity to MC such shows.
In 1981, Charles F. Rosenay!!! founded "Good Day Sunshine," which quickly became America's #1 Beatles fan club magazine. He assumed the role of editor and publisher for 15 years, passing the editorship to Matt Hurwitz. "Good Day Sunshine," along with another publication, "Beatlefan," still remains the most-read source for Beatles news in the U.S.
When the Rock `n' Roll Hall of Fame opened in Cleveland, Ohio, there was video exhibition room devoted to fans of artists deserving a permanent home in the Hall of Fame. Charles F. Rosenay!!! was bestowed an honor
unprecedented in the history of the Rock & Roll museum; he was selected to be featured on a video that is shown continuously at the Hall of Fame in which he represents Beatle fans and followers worldwide.
As a result of his contributions to keeping the Beatles alive via the fan club publication and the conventions, Charles has had the privilege of meeting and/or spending quality time with just about every Beatle, every
member of the Beatles family, as well as associates. He had dinner with the McCartneys, and always considered Linda McCartney a friend for the nice things she would always say about "Good Day Sunshine." His "close
encounters" with George Harrison, Ringo Starr, George Martin, Neil Aspinal, Julian Lennon, Alistair Taylor, Mike McCartney, and others are great memories, but his one regret is never having had the opportunity to meet John Lennon. Charles F. Rosenay!!! has made many friends as a result of his Beatles-related efforts, and he points to such Liverpool dignitaries as Pete Best, Bob Wooler, Allan Williams, Sam Leach as his brethren and colleagues in his adopted city.
Every summer since 1984, Charles has hosted the annual "Magical Mystery Tour to England," a travel package which takes groups of fans from North America to London & Liverpool for the ultimate experience -- a pilgrimage to the Beatles' homeland. He has been regarded by fans in both England and America as an unrecognized "unofficial" ambassador of good will and public relations, bringing literally thousands of tourists to Liverpool for seventeen years. Next month the MMT also brings fans to Hamburg, Germany along with Liverpool
and London.
In the states, when not working on Beatle-related projects, Charles F. Rosenay!!! spends time playing music and entertaining... he is one of the most famous club and party disc jockey entertainers in the New York area.
